Hartford, CT, Firefighters Rescue Woman from Building Fire

Hartford firefighters found the victim hanging out a third-floor window yelling for help.

Two residents were rescued from an apartment building fire Monday night including a woman from the third floor.

Firefighters found heavy fire and a woman hanging out a third floor window yelling for help. She was rescued her by ladder, Hartford Deputy Chief Adam Guertin said, describing the scene as "hectic and chaotic."

Another woman was helped out of her first floor apartment. She and the other person were transported to a hospital for evaluation, according to WFSB.

Other residents evacuated on their own. 

The fire marshal is investigating to determine the cause.
